Stay away from www.igotoffer.com (Fraud alert)
I thought I put it out there my recent experience with one of the website- igotoffer.com
So I was looking to trade a few of my old devices/ phones for cash. I checked the internet and found there are a lot of sites that accept trade-in phones and pay in cash via PayPal.
Upon comparison of quoted price, igotoffer.com had the best offer for my phones. I followed the process, created the online order, and sent them my iPhones. Here is what happened:
- I received a priority mail shipping label (generally other sites send you a cheaper label). It was a good feeling initially, but now that I realize, they are in a hurry to get their hands on your devices. Not a good sign.
- I received an email late evening that the phones are received. Late evening email made me think if it was a big company or some home-based operation. Nothing wrong with either but something to keep in mind- keep reading, more on this later.
- Immediately followed another email stating that my phones are not for the service provider (Verizon) that I put in the order for. They made it up that my phones are for “Simple Mobile”. Further, they now changed my offer to $200 from $446 originally quoted. Bummer. I was naturally mad and sense they are up-to something. I am holding receipts of my phone with listed serial numbers, so I am sure I know which phones I sent and which network they were for. Isn’t it?
- I refused to accept the lower offer. We made a few emails back and forth and they simply are not ready to pay more. I asked them to return my phones.
- They were instant in creating a return FedEx shipping label. Great, I thought.
- Now, I kept tracking FedEx. A week pass by and nothing happened. FedEx delivery date was long gone, as I was busy in life- never really tracked detailed status. I then checked the status since I did not receive phones as per FedEx’s estimated delivery date.
- FedEx tracking suggested that they have never received a package from the shipper. Still awaiting the package. So they never shipped the phone back. I was shocked and tried to reach out to them via Phone and Emails.
- I was told on phone and email, the package will be in the mail within 30 days of creating the return label. Wow- so they do not want to pay in full, and hold on to the devices for that long? I was now worried and suspected there is something wrong here. I kept reaching out to them for next few days to speed-up the process but the answer is same- “The package will be in the transit within 30 days.”
- I now suspected a fraud here: First they are not ready to do anything or help anything. They told me clearly, that there is nothing I can do- It willl take that long, no matter what. Second, they are not running really a big operation as based on my initial thought on receiving the package. Third, if they are so quick in checking receipt package, verifying devices nearly instantly, then what is preventing them to put that package back in FedEx? That is too for 30 days?
- Sadly, there is nothing I can do as they have my phones and I have no payment and no phone. I am at a total loss.
I have to admit that I should have done my research. Now that if I look for complaints, there are a lot of similar complaints on the internet for igotmyoffer.com.
Hopefully, my experience will help other unsuspected users.

Update (1/31/2021): After a tireless fight via email and phone calls, I was able to make them ship out my phones for real. I received the phones and quickly thanks to FedEx. Overall, the whole experience was a disaster and tremendous waste of energy and time.
